First Indoor BESS in NYC
Commissioned New York City’s first-ever on-site battery storage system, proving energy storage could thrive in even the toughest permitting environments.
2017
From Startup to Global Scale
Integrated into Enel X, scaling operations across North America, backed by global resources and reach.
2020
Expansion into Canada
Launched a Canadian joint venture with Ardian Infrastructure to accelerate on-site energy solutions in Ontario.
2020
Calibrant Founded
Backed by Macquarie Asset Management, Calibrant launched to deliver on-site energy solutions to the world’s largest power users.
2021
Doubling Down on Scale
Commissioned a 10 MW / 20 MWh BESS in Belleville, ON – North America’s largest BTM battery storage at the time – and strengthened our expertise by adding Kenyon Energy’s seasoned team and pipeline.

Scaling Industry Leadership
Commissioned a 10 MW / 20 MWh BESS in Sudbury, ON (tied for largest BTM BESS in North America at the time). Commissioned a 20 MW / 40 MWh BESS in Sarnia, ON (current largest BTM BESS in North America). Commissioned Puerto Rico's largest clean energy microgrid at 7 MW solar plus 2 MWh BESS (winner of the 2024 “International Energy Project of the Year”).
